We had 2 full days in Venice (3 nights), we decided to make the most out of those 2 days and explore Venice as much as possible. We could have stayed a day longer but if you're limited with time don't worry, 2 days is a good amount of time to explore this magical city.
If you're feeling adventurous like us here is our itinerary.
We woke up early to catch the sunrise at St. Mark's Square. It is one of the most popular spots in the city therefore arrive early to beat the crowds. There is something extremely romantic and beautiful about watching the sunrise here.
Head on over to the Bridge of Sighs which is located right around the corner from St. Mark's Square.
There are 4 different angles where you can capture a photo with this bridge:
Option 1: Ponte della Paglia: It's a bridge right next to St. Mark's square and just behind the Doge's Palace.
Option 2: Below Ponte della Pagila (in photo): When facing the Bridge of Sighs walk to your right off the bridge and make a left turn to an alley for this cool spot in this photo.
Option 3: The bridge near Trattoria Canonica restaurant.
Option 4: Gondola ride. This is a great option, but an expensive one. (Most expensive option..)
From San Marco neighborhood we headed towards Teatro La Fenice, Venice's opera house. It is the most famous landmarks in the history of Italian theater it was repeatedly destroyed and risen from its ashes. I have to say that from the outside it isn't as impressive but I would love to go back to Venice and watch the opera here.
We wanted to capture a photo that is Instagram famous so we entered 'Hotel San Moise' into our google maps and found this lovely spot to take a photo with the Calle Dario la Chiesa bridge in the background.
From there we headed towards another beautiful bridge you shouldn't miss Ponte Maria Callas.
Not far is Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo. It is a small palazzo in Venice, Italy, best known for its external multi-arch spiral staircase with a spectacular view of the city. Don't forget to buy tickets ahead of time!
Entrance Fee: 7 Euro.
Opening hours: Every day, 10:00 AM to 18:00 PM.
At this point we were a little hungry so we got Ice cream at Venchi at Calle dei Fabbri. It's one of our favorite ice creams in Italy.
This bridge is close by don't miss this one.
You'll walk another 450m and reach the magnificent Ponte di Rialto. There are many ways to admire this bridge.

Next to the Rialto bridge there is a cool shopping mall, inside this mall, there is a secret viewpoint called T Fondaco Rooftop Terrance. There is no entrance fee but you must reserve your 15-minute time slot online in advance!
Opening hours: Daily, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
At this point we got hungry and decided to sit down and eat. We found a beautiful garden restaurant Trattoria Da Gigi which wasn't too far from our next destination Libreria Acqua Alta.
he most unique bookstore you'll ever visit. The magic starts the moment you enter. You'll find hidden gems all around, friendly cats everywhere, a gondola in the middle of the store and at the end of it is a photo op.

Opening hours: Daily, 9 AM – 7:45 PM.
We were very tired since we woke up very early so we decided to end the day pretty early.
︎Take a Vaporetto (Water bus) to Murano- Walk around and enjoy this beautiful island.
We got hungry pretty early and had lunch early on. We ate at Osteria Al Duomo and everything we ordered was excellent.
Hop on a Vaporetto to Burano and enjoy the colorful houses. For more information about Murano and Burano (including what to do there and where we ate) tap here!
Take Vaporetto back to Venice - Get off at Celestia and walk towards Arsenale di Venezia. Get 'lost' in the authentic neighborhood of Castello, you'll find it less crowded and get to absorb how the locals live.
It is a beautiful complex of former shipyards and armories clustered together in the city of Venice. Not many people go here and it's a nice spot to just sit and relax. Unlike the rest of Venice there are a few benches here and you can also find a water fountain.
From Arsenale di Venezia you'll walk on this famous promenade along the waterfront to San Marco. It is usually very busy and filled with souvenir stalls.
We booked and reserved a spot online to enter the basilica ahead of time. You can make a reservation online starting in April until November. The rest of the months the que isn't too bad so you can't preorder tickets. We recommend you go inside if possible, it is beautiful.
Entrance fee: 3 Euro per adult.
Opening hours: Daily 9:35 AM – 5:00 PM
Bell tower Go up & enjoy the view of the city. Entrance fee: 10 Euro per adult. Opening hours: Daily, 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM.
We headed towards Dorsodouro neighborhood and went to this beautiful bridge near the Accademia Gallery.
We would have loved to go into the gallery, but we didn't feel like we had enough time.
Entrance fee: 12 Euro per adult.
Ages 18-25 - 2 Euro.
Opening hours: Mondays from 8:15 AM to 2 PM (ticket decks close at 1 PM).
Tuesdays-Sunday from 8:15 AM to 7:15 PM. (tickets decks close at 6:15 PM).
We also really wanted to enter but it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays which were the only 2 days we were in Venice.
Entrance fee: 7.5 Euros per person.
Opening hours: Thursday to Sunday, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
We admired the basilica from outside since our feet were starting to ache and we were getting pretty.
Entrance fee: 3 Euro per person.
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 6 AM.
We decided to end our day here, we had a good meal and some great wine. It had a fine interior, wasn't too pricy and served great food with a great choice of wine.
