Benagil Cave is one of the most popular places to visit during your trip to the Algarve coast. It is just 200 meters from Benagil Beach, considered one of the best beaches in the Algarve, and is well worth visiting if you ask us.

The best time to visit Portugal is March-May and September-October when the weather is warm, prices are lower and many of the crowds have gone.
The best time to visit Benagil Cave is as early as possible in the morning. It gets pretty crowded here.
You can't enter the cave by foot but there are a few ways you can see the cave. The cave tours depart from Albufeira, Portimão, Lagos, Vilamoura, Armação de Pêra, Ferragudo, or Alvor.
•By Foot: You can go to the top of the cave and see it from above.

If you're booking a boat tour, do your research on what boat you're getting on because the smaller the boat, the better. The big boats DO NOT enter the cave even if they are called 'Benagil cave boat tour'.
You can swim from the beach around the edge of the cliff to the entrance but it it unadvised for inexperienced swimmers. If you plan on doing so, check the weather before you go swimming there.
While Benagil is a very small little village in the Algarve, there are many of great restaurants you can eat at after your activity.
