During our southwest road trip, we drove from Page, Arizona to Moab, Utah - passing by Monument Valley. Monument Valley is such an iconic and beautiful place, and it has so much to offer. Here are some things you should know before you visit.
Located on the border of Utah & Arizona, there are so many ways you can access Monument Valley but there isn't much around the area.
•Phoenix – 322 miles.
•Albuquerque – 324 miles.
•Las Vegas – 400 miles.
•Salt Lake City – 385 miles.
•Page, AZ – 127 miles.
•Grand Canyon (South Rim) – 178 miles.
•If you're just driving through Monument Valley, it's free.
•If you're driving the Navajo Tribal Park it's 8$ per person for a 1-day pass.
•6 years & under - Free entrance.
•They don't accept cash, so bring your credit card.
8 am to 3 pm.
•No Motorcycle/dirt bike
•No ATV
•No RV
The best time to visit is spring and fall (Apr-May & Sep-Oct). The temperature is good and it isn't as crowded as in summertime (Jun-Aug). The best way to beat the crowds is if you visit in the winter (Nov-Mar): This is the best time for those who want to beat the crowds, and the prices of The View are lower. It'll be cold so be sure to wear suitable clothing.
You can easily spend half a day here. If you've got time I'd suggest spending at least 1 night in the area to better explore.
•The View Hotel
•Goulding's Lodge
•Goulding's Stagecoach Dining Room.
•Linda’s Red Trailer
•Navajo Tribal Scenic drive.
•Forrest Gump Point.
•Mexican Hat.
Pets must be leashed and all hikers must remain on the designated path.
Not allowed.
Have fun xxx
